Will Russia and the U.S. end up fighting a proxy war in Syria?

Good boy, zero for conduct...
The recent surge in the supply of American-built weapons to the Syrian rebels determined to topple the government of President Bashar al-Assad has sparked a heated discussion on whether this constitutes the gearing up of a proxy war between Washington and Moscow...
It is a known fact that the Sunni monarchies, staunch enemies of the Assad regime, have been supplying their Syrian protégées with TOW anti-tank guided missiles. According to sources from The New York Times, the CIA has a similar program of arming the Syrian opposition with TOWs, launched in 2013 and conducted through local intermediaries.
Recent reports claim that since the launch of Russias military operation against Islamic State (ISIS) the flow of TOWs, aimed at destroying Assads tanks, has increased. Dozens of video clips have been posted lately on the internet showcasing the efficiency of the American-made BGM-71 TOW with pictures of Assads burning tanks. This has allegedly cut short and brought to a standstill the recent offensive by the Syrian army.
This looks like a symbolic gain. But could it become a game-changer? According to Ruslan Pukhov, director of the Center for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies, who spoke to Troika Report, the rebels are now attempting to regain the initiative on the ground. Moreover,
What might turn the tables is the theoretical supply to paramilitary formations of the Syrian opposition of Stinger anti-aircraft missile launchers. If Stingers are delivered to the battlefield, it would mean a full-fledged proxy war between the United States and Russia.

Israeli General Captured in Iraq Confesses to Israel-Isis Coalition

Good boy, zero for conduct...
USA Parliament (Intr) Foreign Minister and European Department for Security and Information Secretary General Ambassador Dr Haissam Bou Said exclusively confirms to VT that the Israeli Brigadier Yussi Elon Shahak captured by the Iraqi popular army confessed during the investigation that: there is a strong cooperation between MOSSAD and ISIS top military commanders...Israeli advisors helping the Organization on laying out strategic and military plans, and guiding them in the battlefield
General Shahak was captured by Shiite militia and is still being held in Iraq. His captors are keeping DESI informed, a European security organization with close ties to VT. The article below is based on questions we submitted to his captors this morning. We also inquired as to the conditions under which he is being held.
The terrorist organization also has military consultants from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, United Arab Emirates and Jordan. Saudi Arabia has so far provided ISIS with 30,000 vehicles, while Jordan rendered 4500 vehicles. Qatar and United Arab Emirates delivered funds for covering ISIS overall expenditure.
The planes belonging to the aforesaid countries are still landing in the Mosel airport, carrying military aid and fighters, especially via the Jordanian borders.

The Parliament and the DESI also confirm the Death of ISIS leader Abu Baker al Baghdadi, who received two bullets: one in the head and the other in the shoulder in a fire exchange. Two of his top aides were killed as well. It is believed that the CIA and MOSSAD are behind his death as he becomes a wasted commodity.
Furthermore, Eight ISIS top commanders were killed in Haith in an Iraqi airstrike after two weeks of surveillance by the Iraqi military service.
The report concluded that ISIS terrorist group recently arrested in Moscow came from Syria and Iraq through Ukraine. The perpetrators were planning to carry out subversive operations in railways and bus stations. The bombers are from Chechen, Caucasus, Iraqi, Syrian and Saudi nationalities.
Ukraine became the hotbed of embracing terrorist activities in complicity with Putins arch enemies who want to break up Russia and then absorb it in revenge of his military intervention in Syria.

Energy Wars: Massive Oil Discovery In "Israel"

Good boy, zero for conduct...
For decades, Israel has been searching for oil in its own lands, with the hope of gaining energy independence. Recent reports from Genie, a US oil-exploration company, suggest oil has been found in Israel. Lots of it.
The oil is actually in the Golan Heights, which was taken by Israel, from Syria, in the 1967 war. The ownership of the area is still contested. (Haaretz: Genie Confirms Report of Possible Big Golan Oil Find, Oct 11, 2015)
However, given the current war in Syria and the massive chaos there, Syria would certainly be less likely to challenge Israels oil claim with meaningful force. Is the Syrian-war escalation in part an effort to pave the way for Israeli oil?
If the initial celebratory announcements about how much oil is under the ground, in Golan, are correct, Israel could be looking at a long-sought, massive upswing in its domestic energy capability.
Thats not all. Genie, the US company that is doing the drilling-exploration in Golan, has some very interesting characters on its strategic advisory boardmen who can exert influence on all sorts of geo-political operations...
Exactly how long ago did the Genie people actually know there was oil under the Golan? Did they delay their announcement, to make it seem as if the Syrian escalation was just an unrelated coincidence?
Depending on the size of the oil find under the Golan, the whole configuration of oil-control in the Middle East could be affected. Who has it, who owns it, who sells it, who buys it, and who sets the price.
Israels apparent long-term plan to weaken and disable nations in the Middle East, including Syria, could certainly raise the price of oil from that region, making it cost-effective to bring up all the oil under Golanhowever many barrels that turns out to be.

Israel Takes Advantage Of Syrian Civil War To Expand Illegal Golan Heights Settlement

Good boy, zero for conduct...
Some Israeli officials hope to force the U.S., and therefore the world community, to accept the illegal settlement expansions in order to mollify their displeasure over the Iran deal.
Israel is taking advantage of the chaos in Syria to expand its illegal settlements in the Golan Heights, just as new oil reserves were discovered in the contested region. Israel took control of the Golan Heights region, 460 square miles near the border with Syria, after the Six Days War in 1967. Israel soon began building settlements in the occupied region, displacing previous occupants, including the native Druze ethnic group. The Heights were officially ANNEXED by Israel in 1981, and the expansion of occupation continues despite international opposition and multiple U.N. resolutions opposed to the growing settlements.
Now, Israel hopes to quintuple the size of its settlements over the next five years by adding an additional 100,000 settlers to the region. The plan was proposed by Naftali Bennett, a senior Israeli minister and member of the right-wing Jewish Home party, and, according to a report from The New York Times last week, Bennett is just one of many Israeli leaders and thinkers seizing on the chaos in Syria to solidify Israels hold on the Golan.
The proposal comes after months of fortification of the region by Israeli forces, alongside intensive exploration of the regions energy reserves. Heather Hartlaub, a co-editor at Muftah, an independent news site dedicated to spreading English-language news of the Middle East, noted:
Just two years ago, Israeli military engineers overhauled the forty-five mile border fence with Syria and replaced it with a steel barricade that includes barbed wire, touch sensors, motion detectors, infrared cameras, and ground radar, putting it on par with the Wall Israel has constructed in the West Bank.
Major fossil fuel companies with both American and Israeli investors have also been pouring big money into the region. Afek Oil and Gas Company, a division of New Jersey-based Genie Energy, whose investors include some of the worlds richest moguls like Dick Cheney, Rupert Murdoch, and Jacob Rothschild, has a three-year contract to explore the Golan Heights for oil.

The United Nations and much of the global community still consider the land part of Syria, and Israels occupation of it to be illegal. The Times noted that Bennett and other, unnamed Israeli officials say that international or, at least, American recognition of Israels 1981 annexation of the Golan would be an appropriate salve to Israeli security concerns in the wake of the nuclear deal with Iran.
With the situation in Syria growing ever more unstable instability that is actively supported by Israel and its Western allies who hope to control the region even the local Druze population is beginning to despair of ever regaining their home, according to representatives interviewed by The Times:
These hopes are less and less and maybe became quite to zero, said Qasem Sabbagh, a restaurant owner in the Druse capital, Majdal Shams. A longtime activist, Mr. Sabbagh said he had been less active in the past years, because there is no politics here, there is a war only.

Zionist Kedmi: Russia's Syria success critical in Ukraine

Good boy, zero for conduct...
The former head of the Israeli intelligence service "Nativ" Jakob Kedmi in the beginning of Maidan, in a calm and witty manner, predicted what it would come to. And his guess was correct. What are his predictions now?
"If the plans of Moscow and Damascus are successfully implemented, it would increase Russia's prestige in Europe and in the world", believes Kedmi. "And then any move of Russia to support Donbass would be more efficient and would be interpreted in a different way. After solving the Syrian problem, the problem of Donbass and the regime of Poroshenko would remain. Both Russia and Europe are hoping that this problem could be solved without military actions. How true it could be will depend on the internal situation in Ukraine".
Kedmi says that the weakness of Poroshenkos regime is obvious. In Ukraine, as in Syria, there are similar armed gangs that try to destabilize the situation. Kedmi has outlines two scenarios of the Ukrainian crisis.
"Slow decay of the regime in Ukraine and the continuation of economic catastrophe would lead to internal changes and the change of power in the right direction, that is, the recognition of the two Donbass republics," says the analyst. "The critical point will be the elections enshrined in the Minsk Agreement. Then the whole Europe would have to recognize Lugansk and Donetsk as legitimate political entities. This recognition would be followed by the destabilization of the Ukrainian regime, otherwise the failure of Minsk".
"And the failure of Minsk seriously raises the possibility of military action", - says Kedmi.
"Considering a strong position of Russia in Syria, if there is progress there, it will reduce the desire of those who are behind the regime of Poroshenko to confront Russias support of Novorossia in Ukraine. This would definitely cool down their zeal. One way or another, but it is not in favor of Poroshenko and Maidan authorities. One wishes there would be no human toll".
"The situation might not be changing as fast as the residents of Donetsk, Lugansk, Kharkiv and Odessa would like, but it is going in the right direction", - says Kedmi.

Did Russias Intervention Derail Turkeys Plan to Invade Syria?

Good boy, zero for conduct...
Currently, the fiercest fighting is taking place in three areas that are critical for Syrian President Bashar al Assads survival: The Rastan enclave, the North Hama salient, and the Ghab plain. While Assads forces are expected to overpower the jihadis at all three sites, the militants are dug in and have destroyed a number of armored vehicles and tanks. The regime must seize this area in order to control the M5 highway which runs north to south and connects the cities that create an integrated state. Once these enemy strongholds are broken into smaller pockets of resistance, coalition forces will move further north to close the borders with Turkey while attempting to recapture the strategic city of Aleppo.
According to early reports from Syria Direct, the Syrian army has enclosed Aleppo in an open fist configuration that cuts off the main artery of vital supplies to the north from Turkey. As the fist tightens around the city, US-backed rebel units have fled to the west which is now the only possible escape route. The panicky retreat has precipitated protests against rebel leaders who are blamed for losses on the battlefield and for allowing the regimes disastrous completion of the Aleppo siege.
Aleppo is a key node in Moscows strategy to defeat terrorism and reestablish order across Syria. The battle is bound to be hard-fought, possibly involving close-range, house-to-house urban warfare. This is why it is imperative that coalition forces seal the border from Turkey and stop the flow of arms and supplies as soon as possible. There are rumors that Putin will use Russias elite paratroopers north of Aleppo for that very mission, but so far, they are just rumors. Putin has repeatedly said that he will not allow Russian ground troops to fight in Syria...
