It seems to me entirely apt that this morning’s Cabinet session is the first one to take place on a Saturday since the Invasion of the Falklands in 1982. There’s no physical invasion this time, but the threat to our sovereignty lies just across the Channel….as opposed to the South Atlantic. And whereas last time – whatever one thinks of the Mad Handbag – we had a PM who we just knew was going to give Galtieri’s fascists a good kicking, this time we have a Prime Minister who (without being forced to by public, UKIP-driven pressure) would never have gone through this ‘renegotiation’ charade in the first place.
These are the facts:
We are being asked to decide on the deal before it’s been ratified
Real reform of EC dictatorship is completely absent from the proposals
The Government’s primary argument for staying is what might happen if we didn’t
The only other ‘reason’ is that we’ve obtained ‘a good deal’.
I’m going to return to my Life mantra again now:
“Harken not unto what they say, but watch closely how they behave”.
We’re being asked to Trust the word of these EU leaders and their apparatchiks. So for starters, we should all read these two statements out last night:
Francois Hollande: “Just because it lasted a long time it doesn’t mean that much happened.” Thanks Frankie, nice line in graceful support there.
Charles Michel, the Belgian Prime Minister: “We are very, very far from the initial British position that wanted to create a discrimination.” Dave removes knife from front, flies back to London.
The EC, eurogroupe and ECB (all unelected mobsters) have an abysmal track-record when it comes to the keeping of words and obedience to the law: Lisbon Treaty referendums, ambushing Yanis Varoufakis, Juncker’s bullying in Cyprus, Draghi subordinating Greek bondholders, endless lies from Schäuble about Greek debt levels, the Portuguese economy, the Spanish banking system, using Stournaras at the BoG to destabilise Athenian banks….their loveliness goes on and on.
None of this is being changed or even addressed: the Euronauts will continue on their road to FiskalUnion Hell, and our opting out clause about even this is shot full of holes...

My headline is a response to recent comments made by German Chancellor Angela Merkel at a joint press conference in Berlin with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the decision of the Cameron government in the UK to make boycotting goods from “Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank” by publicly-funded bodies including local councils and universities a criminal offence.
Much to the delight of Netanyahu who has rejected a French initiative to convene a regional conference to try to get a peace process going, Merkel said, “Now is certainly not the time to make really comprehensive progress.”
She added:
“The European Union, and Germany as a member state, is very concerned about seeing things realistically. (My emphasis added). We know the threat of terrorism that Israel has to endure. We believe, on the other hand, that we have to advance a process of peaceful coexistence, and this, according to our opinion, is ultimately built on a two-state solution.”
In my view Merkel’s words were, to say the least, disingenuous. (My dictionary definition of that term is “not frank or open; merely posing as being frank or open; crafty, devious.”)
If Merkel and all other European leaders and their governments had any interest in acknowledging the reality on the ground in Israel/Palestine they would refrain from describing the attacks by individual Palestinians on Israeli Jews over recent months as terrorism.

Martin Banks of Defense News reports Japan’s ambassador to the EU says Tokyo plans to take a much bigger role in “shouldering the burden of global defense and security.”
Speaking in Brussels, Keiichi Katakami said Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is seeking to allow the country’s military forces to play a more active role in self-defense, peacekeeping and conflict prevention.

In a shocking development, Saudi Arabia has now publicly admitted they possess NUCLEAR BOMBS. The bombs will protect the ground invasion of Syria by Turkey and Saudi Arabia. . . which puts the Russians in the unenviable position of having to use nuclear weapons to defend themselves and Syria.
Speaking in a television interview Dahham Al-'Anzi of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was discussing why many in the Arab world feel the need for Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to be removed from power, and that a ground invasion was not only necessary, but is going to take place!
In the context of the pending invasion, Dahham Al-'Anzi outlined the missiles, planes and other war-fighting equipment the Kingdom has acquired and then revealed "We have a nuclear bomb" and asked the TV Interviewer, "Why do you think we have all these weapons?" He then answered his own question "to protect Arabs and Muslims."
Not content to have revealed this staggering information, Dahham Al-'Anzi went further and stated "We may test it within weeks."

VIOLATION OF NUCLEAR NON-PROLIFERATION TREATY
Arabian Peninsula countries included Saudi Arabia and Bahrain who ratified or acceded to the Treaty in 1988, Qatar and Kuwait in 1989, UAE in 1995, and Oman in 1997.
The fact that Saudi Arabia now admits they took possession of nuclear bombs despite having signed the Treaty means something very simple: Saudi Arabia's "word" cannot be trusted. Even with something as serious and solemn as a Treaty, their "word" is no good. Even when their "King" signs a treaty, the word of their King is now proved to be no good. To put it in street terms, Saudis are "shifty."

Michael Rivero: Saudi Arabia funded Pakistani research into nuclear weapons, with the proviso that when their nuclear weapons were perfected, Saudi Arabia could have them.
This is, apparently, what has happened.
The arms race in the Middle East, is well and truly on.
Webmaster addition: This makes the whole "nuclear free middle east (except for Israel)" agenda that was used to justify sanctions and potential war on Iran a total joke.
