CIA Threatens 9/11 Researchers After Discovery Of Cover Up Details

The CIA has issued legal threats against two film producers who have discovered intimate details of a cover up regarding the intelligence agency and two of the purported 9/11 hijackers.
Ray Nowosielski and John Duffy, the producers of the popular 9/11 documentary '9/11 Press for Truth', were contacted by the CIA last week on September 8th regarding extensive research, interviews and findings that have led them to discover the identities of two key CIA analysts who were instrumental in the conspiracy.
The film's producers initially only referred to the CIA analysts by their first names, but expressed their intention to later reveal their full identities in a forthcoming "investigative podcast", which seemingly prompted the agency to step in.
"While producing our investigative podcast "Who Is Rich Blee?," intended to be released on Sunday, our team managed to deduce the likely identities of two CIA employees at the heart of a notorious failure in the run up to the September 11th tragedy." a statement reads on the producer's website, which was offline for most of yesterday.
"On Thursday, we submitted our sсript to CIA along with a request to interview the two employees," the statement continues. "We wanted to be fair in giving them a chance to tell their sides of the story. Instead, the Agency sent us a message threatening that if we went forward with the names included in the piece that it would be a potential violation of federal criminal law."
Duffy and Nowosielski also interviewed former counterterrorism czar Richard Clarke, who told them on the record that he has intelligence that three former top CIA officials -- George Tenet, Cofer Black and Richard Blee -- knowingly withheld key information on the alleged hijackers from the White House, the FBI, Immigration and the State and Defense Departments.

World's Largest Radio Telescope under Construction in SW China

China is in the final stages of building the world’s largest and most sensitive radio telescope. The state-owned China Central Television has released drone footage showing their progress, as well as the vertigo-inducing size of it.
The Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Telescope (FAST) is being built deep in the misty mountains of Pingtang County, located in the Guizhou Province of southwest China. Construction has been going on since 2011. When completed in 2016, the FAST will become the largest radio telescope on the planet – at 500 meters (1,640 feet) in diameter, its dish will trump Puerto Rico's Arecibo Observatory, which is 300 meters (984 feet) wide.
Wu Xiangping, the director-general of the Chinese Astronomical Society, said to Xinhua News, "Having a more sensitive telescope, we can receive weaker and more distant radio messages. It will help us to search for intelligent life outside of the galaxy and explore the origins of the universe."
China will have to foot an equally enormous bill for this project, with estimates suggesting it will cost around 700 million yuan ($110,328,309).

Support for Israel was once bipartisan. But it’s become a political touchstone for conservatives.
One shouldn’t read too much into this. Democrats still go out of their way to assure the world that they “stand with” the Jewish state. And despite his administration’s well-documented tensions with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Barack Obama assured skeptics of the Iran nuclear deal that he’s “pursued an unprecedented level of military, intelligence and security cooperation with Israel.” The numbers back that up. The administration has given $20.5 billion in foreign military assistance to Israel since 2009. And next week, General Joseph Dunford, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, will travel to Tel Aviv in an attempt to persuade Netanyahu, who cut off talks in protest of the Iran deal, to accept a big increase in military aid over the next ten years.

Did Russia’s Intervention Derail Turkey’s Plan to Invade Syria?

Currently, the fiercest fighting is taking place in three areas that are critical for Syrian President Bashar al Assad’s survival: The Rastan enclave, the North Hama salient, and the Ghab plain. While Assad’s forces are expected to overpower the jihadis at all three sites, the militants are dug in and have destroyed a number of armored vehicles and tanks. The regime must seize this area in order to control the M5 highway which runs north to south and connects the cities that create an integrated state. Once these enemy strongholds are broken into smaller pockets of resistance, coalition forces will move further north to close the borders with Turkey while attempting to recapture the strategic city of Aleppo.
According to early reports from Syria Direct, the Syrian army has enclosed Aleppo in an open fist configuration that cuts off the main artery of vital supplies to the north from Turkey. As the fist tightens around the city, US-backed rebel units have fled to the west which is now the only possible escape route. The panicky retreat has precipitated protests against rebel leaders who are blamed for losses on the battlefield and for allowing “the regime’s disastrous completion of the Aleppo siege.”
Aleppo is a key node in Moscow’s strategy to defeat terrorism and reestablish order across Syria. The battle is bound to be hard-fought, possibly involving close-range, house-to-house urban warfare. This is why it is imperative that coalition forces seal the border from Turkey and stop the flow of arms and supplies as soon as possible. There are rumors that Putin will use Russia’s elite paratroopers north of Aleppo for that very mission, but so far, they are just rumors. Putin has repeatedly said that he will not allow Russian ground troops to fight in Syria...

In recent days, the Ukrainian “Peacekeeper” (Mirotvorets) website has started posting the personal data of Russian fighter pilots fighting terrorsts in Syria.
For those not in the know, “Peacekeeper” is a website that collects profiles on the enemies of the Ukrainian junta. Ranging from “terrorists” to dastardly “supporters of federalization,” this includes people from Putin to opposition journalists such as Oles Buzina, who was coincidentally assassinated shortly after his appearance there.

Reality Check: What We Know About TPP Makes It The Worst Trade Deal Ever

Seriously—it is so secret that not even all members of Congress have been allowed to read it. Even weirder, those who have been allowed to read it must do so in a secret room in the basement of the Capitol building. Seriously.
That doesn’t mean, however, that we don’t know anything about the TPP. And the bits that we do know about it reveal that this really isn’t a trade deal.
Take, for instance, the latest meeting over the TPP with world leaders who met here in Atlanta. What were they discussing?
The United States argued for longer protections for exclusivity for prescription drugs. The U.S. delegation was arguing that the trade agreement should expand globally at a 12-year exclusivity period for drugs that treat diseases like cancer.
Doctors Without Borders came out against this stating: “TPP countries have agreed to United States government and multinational drug company demands that will raise the price of medicines for millions. . . . The big losers in TPP are patients and treatment providers in developing countries. . . . The TPP will still go down in history as the worst trade agreement for access to medicines in developing countries.” That’s not very encouraging. What else do we know about the TPP? Well, it is not just an agreement extending monopolies for drug companies. It is also an agreement that creates massive copyright protections.
The Electronic Freedom Foundation says that, “Despite its earlier promises that the TPP would bring ‘greater balance’ to copyright, more than any other recent trade agreement, the most recent leak of the intellectual property chapter belies their claims. The U.S. Trade Representative [Michael Froman] (USTR) has still failed to live up to its word that it would enshrine meaningful public rights to use copyrighted content in this agreement.”
But what you need to know is that the worst thing about the TPP is something called the ISDS—the Investor-State Dispute Settlement.
Under the ISDS, foreign corporations would be allowed to appeal legal decisions to international tribunals rather than face domestic courts.

University of Cambridge study finds 87% of Android devices are insecure

It's easy to see that the Android ecosystem currently has a rather lax policy toward security, but a recent study from the University of Cambridge put some hard numbers to Android's security failings. The conclusion finds that "on average 87.7% of Android devices are exposed to at least one of 11 known critical vulnerabilities."

Culture of violence shapes US policy: Analyst

The first US Democratic presidential debate has reminded us that America’s “culture of violence” controls Washington’s policies and prompts US leaders to wage wars to gain more power, an American writer and activist says.
Mickey Z., the author of Occupy this Book, told Press TV on Wednesday that the way Democratic presidential contenders put forward their plans for the future of America is indicative of a “higher necrophilic culture” that must be “dismantled before there is nothing left to save.”
“It certainly is a reminder of how deeply ingrained this violent culture is, how deeply ingrained the patriarchal culture is in the United States,” he said.
The analyst added that during the debate, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders and former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton “toughen themselves up and compete over who is more willing to rain down military violence upon this group, or this nation or that nation.”

Google degenerates into Ministry of Truth...

Gone are the days when you could search Google and pull up neutral, relevant content appropriate to your search query. The search engine giant is reportedly pioneering a new search algorithm that will tailor search results not based on popularity or accuracy, but rather on what Google itself deems to be truthful or untruthful.
The world's new "Ministry of Truth", Google believes that screening and censoring information requested by its users will help avoid "websites full of misinformation" from showing up at the top of the search list. Known as the "Knowledge Vault," the novel algorithm is described by The New American as "an automated and super-charged version of Google's manually compiled fact database called Knowledge Graph."
Google's Knowledge Graph, in case you didn't know, was the search engine's first attempt at becoming a purveyor of knowledge rather than just information -- a "smart" search tool, if you will, designed to enhance the relevancy of search results by analyzing various facts, figures, and other data appropriate to a user's intended query.
The Knowledge Vault builds upon this concept, but takes it another step further. By sorting through the actual content of websites to determine whether or not they fit the official narrative for the particular idea or concept presented, the Knowledge Vault will act as a type of knowledge gatekeeper in censoring out information and content deemed to be "false."
"[The Knowledge Vault] promises to let Google answer questions like an oracle rather than a search engine, and even to turn a new lens on human history," wrote Hal Hodson for NewScientist about the project.

China has had a telescope on the moon for the past two years

Point a telescope at the moon, and you might just see one looking back. Chinese researchers have reported that their robotic telescope, the first of its kind, has been operating flawlessly ever since it landed on the moon in 2013.
The 15-centimetre telescope is mounted on the Chang’e 3 lander, which touched down on the lunar surface in December 2013. Chang’e 3 (pictured above) carried the Yutu rover, which repeatedly struggled to survive the lunar night and ceased working in March this year – but the lander is still going strong.
The telescope sees in ultraviolet light, making it particularly suited for observations that aren’t possible here on Earth. “There is no atmosphere on the moon, so unlike Earth, the ultraviolet light from celestial objects can be detected on the moon,” says Jing Wang of the National Astronomical Observatories in Beijing, China, who is in charge of the telescope. And since the moon rotates 27 times more slowly than the Earth, the scope can stay fixed on the same star for a dozen days without interruption, he says.
